About the Role

As Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for managing the function end to end with accuracy, consistency, and accountability. Reporting into our Assistant Controller, you will partner closely with internal budget owners and external vendors to ensure invoices are processed correctly and paid on time. You will support month-end close, reconciliations, and cash movement activities, while additionally improving our processes through automation and thoughtful controls.

You should be someone who thrives working independently, takes pride in precision, and looks for opportunities to make finance operations better. This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in-office at our Menlo Park office.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the full-cycle Accounts Payable process, including invoice intake, coding, approvals, and timely payment
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and internal budget owners, resolving issues efficiently and professionally
  • Collect, review, and maintain vendor W-9 documentation and prepare annual 1099 filings in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Administer the company credit card program, including card issuance, user access, spending limits, and policy compliance
  • Review and approve employee expense reports through Expensify, ensuring adherence to company travel and expense policies
  • Prepare and support wire transfers for management approval and accurately record incoming deposits
  • Support local tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable reporting requirements
  • Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations and support month-end close activities, including accruals, prepaids, and journal entries
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and AI-enabled solutions, to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure Accounts Payable policies and procedures are followed consistently, recommending refinements as the business scales
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and other teams to support broader accounting and operational needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Currently located in the Bay Area within commuting distance to our Menlo Park office.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience with hands-on ownership of Accounts Payable and general ledger activities.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice coding, approvals, payments, reconciliations, and expense management.
  • Experience working in an ERP system; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, assess risk, and take corrective action.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Comfortable partnering with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Interest in leveraging automation and artificial intelligence to modernize accounting and AP workflows.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000.00 to $130,000.00. Salary ranges are determined by role and level. Compensation is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
