About our Team
The DRV Product Management team supports the Auto, Commercial, Home and Life insurance markets to drive product and cost innovation. This team has a passion for developing new ideas, gathering, evaluating, and understanding customer use-cases through close and constant contact with customers, and supports key end-to-end lifecycle components from planning to release.
About the Role
The Product Manager I will own a product feature and lead project execution. They will own the development plan and represent their feature within the PM team and will have an internal network across product domains. The individual will have a solid understanding of the customer and target market. They will represent the needs of the customer to the delivery team and will support and participate in the demo to key stakeholders at program milestones.
You will be responsible for
- Interacting with customers to represent requirements and understand key customer needs and market basics.
- Having familiarity with and using customer frameworks (e.g. Jobs To Be Done, personas.)
- Focusing on delivering customer commitments.
- Collaborating with internal business partners to gather and assess product needs in the marketplace; Training and educating internal business partners as need, e.g. sales.
- Keeping up to date on news/incidents and understanding what is happening in the market and with competitors.
- Analyzing situations and data autonomously.
- Utilizing data from predefined dashboards to make decision recommendations.
- Comparing and evaluating various possibilities and making recommendations for action that consider business implications.
- Interacting independently with customers through in person communication, e.g. at various customer events; Directly addressing customer complaints.
- Executing on go to market launch plans as required.
- Leading the execution of a product roadmap for a single feature area.
- Understanding and utilizing the drivers for improving the customer experience.
- Leveraging tools to coordinate activities and ensure quality based on the development methodology in place.
- Defining and prioritizing requirement changes for engineering and performs analysis to meet acceptance criteria.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Have 2-4 years in product management experience.
- Have high level understanding of the company technology stack for feature area.
- Have demonstrated technical skills with technologies such as (Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, Python, SQL, etc.)
- Have demonstrated solving constraints, assessing risks, and structuring data-informed reasoning effectively in writing.
- Have demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.
- Have demonstrated ability to work with others to modify or maintain a product and identify technology challenges.
- Have demonstrates ability to learn multiple areas of business – engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing. All while engaging with those teams and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
- Have demonstrated understanding of insurance would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Have experience with customer interviewing techniques
- Able to innovate by thinking through new/different approaches to current processes and/or tasks
- Able to understand how web applications are used and developed. Understands concepts of A/B testing and experimentation.
- Able to use analytic toolsets like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar. Exceptional understanding of software development methodologies like Agile Scrum, Kanban, writing user stories.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities.
- Have a curious and keen mindset to learn and develop new ideas, skills, and knowledge
- Have a Bachelors level education in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) is ideal, but not essential.
