About the Role

The Lead Product Manager will be responsible for owning a specific product or one or more features within a complex product ecosystem. This role involves developing a commercially successful product strategy and leading its execution with minimal guidance from management. The Lead Product Manager will represent the product domain internally among peers and managers, as well as externally when needed. Additionally, this position includes managing a small team, with responsibilities for recruitment, development, and the overall success of team members.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining close contact with customers to gain insights into market direction considering multiple factors.

  • Leveraging analytics and other insights to enhance understanding of customer needs.

  • Creating processes that excel at recognizing customer needs.

  • Aligning and coaching the team to ensure customer needs are fulfilled.

  • Understanding competitors and the regulatory environment.

  • Segmenting markets and gaining deeper insights into the needs of those sub-segments.

  • Leveraging metrics to track progress on customer needs and ensuring product efforts align with those metrics.

  • Pulling and accessing data from multiple sources, managing through data ambiguity.

  • Communicating KPIs that measure team success.

  • Coaching others on how to analyze information for problem-solving.

  • Identifying the most important data to consider and setting KPIs, priorities, and dashboards.

  • Analyzing data using existing software packages (e.g., Excel) comfortably.

  • Overseeing the development of clear go-to-market launch plans through coordination with external customer-facing teams like marketing and sales.

  • Drafting PR, marketing, and sales collateral while coaching others on the same.

  • Being independently accountable for portions of launch and strategy execution as assigned.

  • Understanding the broader product experience thoroughly.

  • Driving key end-to-end lifecycle components, from planning to release.

  • Comprehending the company's SDLC processes, including agile methodologies.

  • Helping drive solutions for complex design challenges.

  • Writing clear requirements for intricate features or products and being responsive to requests for clarifications.

  • Managing product efforts without direct supervision, involving managers or senior leaders only when necessary.

  • Developing product vision and roadmap aligned with business strategy and communicating it across all critical stakeholders.

  • Understanding and communicating the necessity of demonstrating a return on investment.

  • Using knowledge of competitors to inform product decisions and roadmaps.

  • Writing or supporting business cases for investment.

  • Utilizing data to drive commercial decisions and identify growth opportunities for the product.

  • Understanding the company’s technology stack at a high level for the broader product.

  • Utilizing or extending the company's platform and underlying technologies to create new product features.

  • Speaking knowledgeably with tech and data counterparts about development approaches under consideration.

  • Learning about new technologies to support product development efforts.

  • Analyzing data using existing software packages (e.g., Excel) comfortably.

  • Releasing new product or product features to the market, from collaborative conceptualization to execution to post-release management.

  • Has a thorough understanding of the broader product experience.

  • Driving key end-to-end lifecycle components, from planning to release.

  • Understanding of the company's SDLC processes, including agile processes.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 8 year's experience in Product Management.

  • Demonstrate experience in development and execution of a business-case level investment.

  • Have a track record of hiring and managing people

  • Have a BA or MA level education in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) is ideal but not required.

  • Have experience with releasing new product or product features to the market, from collaborative conceptualization to execution to post-release management.

  • Expert-level oral and written communication skills; must be able to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Expert-level ability to deliver client presentations and performance analysis via the telephone and in-person to high-level clients.

  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of project management experience.
