About the Internship

ICIS is offering a paid summer internship for individuals passionate about sustainability and data-driven research. Join our dynamic plastics recycling analytics team and contribute to impactful work focused on the Asia-Pacific region.

We are looking for a student analyst to join our plastic recycling analytics team in London (UK), focusing on research on the Asia recycle markets.

Plastics recycling is one of the core sustainability areas of the petchems industry and is already taking hold in key regions. ICIS is at the forefront of reporting and analysing the market dynamics and holds probably the best dataset in the industry. The relevant players are our customers and ICIS analysts are respected experts in these markets. In London we focus on quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.

You will help us improving existing and developing new data for plastic recycling commodities within the Asia Pacific region. You will work on a project to develop the understanding of key markets within the Asia Pacific region – from plant capacities to infrastructure profiles and regulatory background. You work together with our experienced analyst team to receive support and have challenging discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Support research projects by collecting, analysing, and presenting data on recycling markets and infrastructure.
  • Help maintain and enhance our Recycling Supply Tracker with up-to-date plant and capacity data.
  • Investigate regulatory developments and market trends across Asia-Pacific.
  • Collaborate with experienced analysts and contribute to meaningful discussions and insights.

Requirements

  • Curiosity and interest in sustainability, recycling, or market research.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with data in Excel or similar tools.
  • Detail-oriented and eager to learn in a supportive team environment.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
