About the Role:
The Director, Global M&A, Strategy and Business Development role will report to the VP, Head of Global M&A and will help drive the inorganic business strategy to maintain and enhance LNRS’s competitive position and growth.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Lead strategic projects to identify priority areas for LNRS to expand through acquisition, and devise acquisition hypotheses for these areas.
- Work closely with LNRS Strategy, Product, and other commercial leaders to identify areas for growth
- Maintain an understanding of key market developments and trends through customer and competitive research, industry conferences, and industry news
- Assess opportunities by conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Summarize analysis and recommendations in presentations and papers
Develop and maintain the global acquisition pipeline, including managing relationships with acquisition targets and industry contacts.
- Gather information on companies via desk research and interviews
- Evaluate companies in the pipeline to identify priority targets
- Support LNRS leadership in nurturing relationships with top priority targets
Develop acquisition cases for priority targets, including:
- Customer, competitor, and industry research and analysis
- Identification and quantification of revenue synergies
- Managing external CDD providers
Present acquisition cases to senior leadership
Draft internal review and approval documentation
Management of diligence workstreams, identification of key challenges and driving cross-functional alignment around implications / path forward
INTERFACES WITH:
The role will interface internally and partner with LexisNexis Risk Solutions senior leaders, including the C-Suite, Business Unit Leaders, the LNRS Strategy and Business Development team, as well as key leaders of RELX.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Strategy Consulting Experience: The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of post-MBA strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking or corporate finance experience with a top-tier firm.
- Relevant Industry Experience: The ideal candidate has deep knowledge in market research, analytics, or data science within complex industries such as financial services, insurance, transportation, or energy
- Relevant functional Experience: The ideal candidate’s experience has focused on inorganic strategy projects such as Commercial Due Diligence for corporate acquisitions or private equity. Prior experience on transactional work (e.g., investment banking, private equity, in-house M&A/corporate development) including familiarity with M&A processes and corporate finance (e.g., valuation analysis) is preferred.
- Structured & Logical Thinking: The ideal candidate should have extensive experience identifying, framing, and structuring strategic analysis and developing strong, well-supported recommendations.
- Analytical and Technical Aptitude: Proven capability conducting and managing quantitative analyses, including modeling in MS Excel; strong MS PowerPoint and Word skills.
- Executive Presence: The ideal candidate will inspire confidence in stakeholders, while building followership with team members at all levels in the organization.
- Education: A right-fit candidate will ideally possess an MBA from a top-tier school and an undergraduate degree in STEM or business.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $133,400 - $247,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

 


 



This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
