Focused on the Americas region, we provide independent, data-driven insights into the fatty acids, fatty alcohols, glycerin, and broader petrochemical markets. Working closely with industry participants, clients, and global colleagues, we analyze market dynamics and emerging trends that shape supply, demand, pricing, and long-term market outlooks.

About the Role

The Markets Analyst will be responsible for managing pricing assessments, market intelligence, and forecasting activities for assigned products within the Americas region, primarily supporting the petrochemical, aromatic chemicals, polymers, and oleochemicals. This role requires building strong industry relationships, gathering and analyzing market data, and producing high-quality written analysis that helps clients navigate complex market conditions. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with excellent communication skills to deliver accurate, unbiased, and actionable market insights.

This position may require travel of up to 25% to attend industry conferences, client meetings, and market events.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and timely regional price assessments and identify opportunities to expand market coverage.

  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts to gather market intelligence and pricing information.

  • Conduct ongoing discussions with market participants and clients to develop informed perspectives on market pricing, supply and demand fundamentals, and industry sentiment.

  • Collect, manage, and update market data within analytical models and forecasting tools.

  • Develop clear and insightful market commentary, analysis, forecasts, charts, news updates, and industry reports for publication.

  • Deliver objective, data-driven insights that support client procurement, strategic planning, and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with global teams to develop supply and demand balances and long-term market forecasts across regions.

  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, customer meetings, and networking events.

  • Present market findings and analysis to clients and stakeholders as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, commodity markets, market intelligence, pricing analysis, or a related field.

  • Experience analyzing or reporting on commodity and petrochemical markets is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships and engage effectively with industry participants and clients.

  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce concise, insightful, and analytical market commentary.

  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with experience interpreting complex datasets.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% for conferences, client visits, and market discussions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of petrochemicals, like polymers, aromatic chemicals, oleochemicals or related commodity markets.

  • Experience with market forecasting, supply and demand analysis, and price assessment methodologies.

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex market trends to diverse audiences.

    

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $78,800 - $131,300. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
