We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our growing Sports Data Platform at DraftKings. This role is a critical driver in establishing the foundational layer that powers all DraftKings sports verticals and customer experiences.
As the owner of our sports data platform, you will design and deliver a trusted, product-agnostic foundation that ensures sports data is accurate, reliable, scalable, and governed at the highest standards. You’ll lead cross-functional initiatives that unlock next-generation capabilities including sports specific GenAI, simulation models, search, and research insights, while ensuring seamless integration into downstream products.
Vision and execution: Define and deliver the next-generation Sports Data Platform, unifying ingestion, entity management, and distribution into a trusted, product-agnostic foundation
Drive cross-vertical integration: Partner with Sportsbook, Fantasy, and Consumer PMs to ensure sports data fuels features, launches, and personalized experiences across DraftKings.
Enable advanced capabilities: Build infrastructure that supports AI-driven insights, conversational search, and personalization while maintaining a strong focus on data governance and reliability
Champion analytics & data quality: Set standards for data quality, reliability, and performance. Use analytics to frame product opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and prioritize work.
Own product lifecycle: Write vision documents, define roadmaps, coordinate with BizDev on third party data contracts, and deliver clear specifications (including non-functional requirements for scale, resilience, and performance).
Manage people and processes: Directly manage one PM, providing coaching, mentorship, and career development. Foster collaboration, accountability, and cross-team partnership.
Collaborate across functions: Work with Engineering, Data Science, and Business Development to integrate third-party feeds, automate ID mapping, and build scalable, secure data systems
Be a thought leader: Advocate for automation over manual work, define best practices for platform governance, and evangelize the role of sports data as a DraftKings competitive edge.
Know the industry: Maintain deep awareness of sports data vendors—understanding who provides which data, the quality and coverage of their feeds, how integrations work, and where demand is strongest.
Experience: 5+ years in Product Management or related data roles with a track record of delivering high-impact, platform or data products; sportsbook or fantasy sports experience strongly preferred.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor team members; proven success leading cross-functional, high-visibility initiatives.
Technical Acumen: Proficiency in SQL and comfort with data visualization tools (ex. Tableau). Familiarity with modern data infrastructure and workflows, including data ingestion pipelines, distributed storage (ex. AWS S3), and real-time streaming technologies (ex. Kafka). Able to partner with engineering and data science to design scalable, resilient data solutions.
Strategic Mindset: Ability to define vision, set roadmaps, and balance short-term needs with long-term investments in foundational technology.
Analytical Orientation: Comfort with using data to frame opportunities, guide prioritization, and evaluate impact.
Communication: Strong written and verbal skills; able to clearly articulate strategy and vision to executives, peers, and engineering teams.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Nice-to-have Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of sports data providers, feeds, and systems; knowledge of entity management, ID mapping, and real-time data ingestion.
